Rikyu bags are said to be the most harmonious with kimonos.
This is a mold that is currently being produced in collaboration with a kimono shop in Dazaifu.
Most of these are generally made of silk, but to compensate for the disadvantages of silk, such as its tendency to lose its shape easily and the delicate fabric making it prone to staining, we resized and redesigned it using leather.
The soft and supple leather used in Kichaku is given firmness by adding a core material, making it less likely to lose its shape.
We were not satisfied with the zipper opening and closing part, so we made several prototypes, but we finally developed our own pattern that allows for a full closure.
The handles are hand-sewn and are an iconic feature of this bag.
The main compartment has a small pocket inside for a cell phone, etc. There is also a pocket between the main compartment and the surface of the main body for small items (such as a gift envelope).
It has a simple design that looks great when you wrap a scarf around it or add a playful touch.
The leather used, "German Shrink," is also known as "Shrunken Calf," and is the world's finest chrome-tanned leather, used by a certain luxury fashion house.
The leather is tanned using chemicals called chrome tanning, and Perlinger is a high-quality tannery that is actively taking environmental measures in Europe, where environmental issues are strict. The elegant atmosphere that you will understand once you see and touch the leather is something you will not find anywhere else.
The Rikyu Bag is made using world-class leather and expresses the Japanese aesthetic. It is a highly recommended item that goes well with both Japanese and Western clothing.
