In conjunction with the renewal of our e-commerce site, we have written an article to introduce "Has" and briefly explain the brand's history.

“HIDA” was the name of our predecessor company, and 2023 marks exactly 10 years since its establishment.
As a designer and craftsman who has been interested in working with my hands since I was a child, after studying clothing manufacturing at a vocational school, I entered the world of leather manufacturing because I wanted to create things using materials that last longer than fabric.
After working in the manufacturing and planning departments of a leather goods manufacturer in Fukuoka, he decided to hone his skills and began training at a hand-sewn bag atelier for around seven years. Afterwards, he started his own bespoke bag brand, which was named after his nickname, " HIDA . "
“ arts & simplicity ” means “ arts and simplicity . ”
I interpreted this phrase as being an appropriate way to explain the uniquely Japanese aesthetic of " wabi-sabi " to people from other countries.
The concept of " wabi-sabi " is an essential part of my identity, which has been formed from my encounters with various people and what I have learned, as well as the culture I have been exposed to since childhood, and I want to place this concept at the core of the brand's manufacturing.

We also believe that the essence of leather items is to be used and develop a rich character.
Our desire is to create products that can be used and loved for a long time, and to play a part in sharing these products.

HIDA was established in 2013 and has been active in a wide range of fields, including personal custom-made items through solo exhibitions, booths at department stores and events, and through introductions, as well as the production of store and corporate supplies (restaurant menu covers, hotel room key holders, etc.), and technical consulting (development, technical guidance, etc.) for other companies' brands.

In July 2022 , we established our company name HIDA → Has Co., Ltd., and in November of the same year, we opened an atelier and gallery in Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.In addition to producing, exhibiting, and selling products in the atelier, we also serve as an advisor to the production headquarters of other leather product brands.
Whereas up until now HIDA has been creating custom-made products to meet client requests, Has has been preparing to create products that people can empathize with or that will convey a message by disseminating what it believes to be good.
Has as a brand is based on tailoring that can be used for a long time, making use of the skills, knowledge and experience I have cultivated so far, and expresses the worldview that I have absorbed from the things I have seen and touched, such as antiques and folk crafts, which are my tastes.I aim to create products that will be used for 10 or 20 years as a `` partner '' for the customer, the leather item.
Furthermore , through the activities of Has , we ourselves have been able to continue learning about the "important parts of things and events" by "making " " things ." We are still in the process of learning, and our way of thinking and values will continue to change, but we hope that by conveying these " essences " in our own way at that time , we can send a small message to society.
